# Any advice about growing an avocado tree from the seed? Specifically…

Any advice about growing an avocado tree from the seed? Specifically by just plopping it into dirt vs water or ziplock bags.

I’ve seen lots of advice for the other 2 methods (which I’m sure they all work) but I’ve heard the plant will be healthier and less shocked from moving later via the soil method so I’m more interested in that!

I used the water method and it worked great! Until it was mature and pests overtook it…

I always just plop the seed in soil and it always works- just be patient and keep watering the seed :)

How often do you think I should water it? And any special seed treatment ahead of time? I see some people say to peel the seed skin first

Really? I’ve always just plopped it in soil and it grows! Just water when the top soil is dry.
