# Any advice on how to propagate a monkey’s tail cactus? Mine is mature…

Any advice on how to propagate a monkey’s tail cactus?  
Mine is mature and going through a huge growth spurt this summer. My pup accidentally knocked off a new growth, wondering if I can leave it on top of the soil and it will start new?

yes! just leave it and it will probably re-root

Let it callous for several days or more and then just stick it in the dirt. It knows what to do. It will root.
