Hoyas can be successfully propagated in either water or soil, with many growers preferring soil-based methods for efficiency and to avoid transfer shock. While water propagation allows you to see roots develop, soil-based methods like perlite, sphagnum moss, or well-draining soil are excellent options that minimize the difficulty of transitioning from water to soil later on.
