Hi! I am new to propogating and am trying to propogate a persian shield. I've heard that they don't really do well with water propogation- has anyone successfully done that? Also all the videos I've seen of propogating them, they have used rooting hormone(?) before sticking it in a pot- is the rooting stuff absolutely necessary or can it be propogated without? Thank you!

Yes, you can propagate in water just make sure the stem has a few nodes and not just one, and you don’t have to use a rooting hormone but it definitely helps speed up the process
