How would I go about propagating this rubber plant? It’s so tall in such a small pot! Should I prune it and place in water?

Chop it. Dip end into soil with some rooting hormone to help and sick into soil. Same pot or different. Chopping it occasionally also helps make them bushy as they begin to branch out

Look up air layering- if you have the supplies and environment for it, that’s your best bet for root development. The most important aspect of air layering is to ensure that the girdled area remains moist (and be sure to use sphagnum moss rather than sphagnum peat moss)

This one was air layered and then chopped and she’s been in her own pot for about a month doing really well. Today’s her first day for fertilizer! 🥹

The one thing I will warn you about air layering is that the plant will undergo transfer shock (at least one of the leaves will go limp) but it recovers within a few days of removing it from the mother plant

This is what the root ball looked like while still attached to the mother plant
