They all look ready to plant! All their roots look at least an inch long

#### Camelia replied on 2025-04-15

Does that work on all plants?

For most small cuttings, yeah

I have seen advice that says two inch roots with even starts of little roots branching off the bigger roots. So who knows🪴

I’ll try both and see which one does best

I heard a phrase that goes with that—“when roots have roots”. 😂

They are ready to plant. If the first photo shows a basil plant, then, you can bury the entire basil stem into the soil leaving the top set of leaves and cutting off the side leaves that are buried in the soil. The basil stem like tomatoes will sprout roots all down the stems. This makes a stronger root system.
