Greetings plant family, I have a question. Do you have people that try to pinch off a piece of your plants when they come to visit? I have a friend that I won’t let visit me because they feel like they can just take a piece of my plants. Asking sometimes and not asking sometimes. I do not want anyone’s hands on my babies! What would you do? I don’t want any of my plants to die because of someone’s greed. Also the person is not good with plants. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i think move the plants when they come for the day. or just be very direct and tell them no. os there a room that u can move yr plants to while they stay

I completely agree!! Just because we are friends doesnt mean you can take pieces of my plants! I would tell them you are trying to make sure they grow and stay healthy so if they want a cutting they need to ask so you can make sure the plant stays alive. Or i would just not let them come over if the keep crossing a boundary you set🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe move them to a closet or in a locked room? I recommend telling your friend just straight up no, that those plants are your property, and not theirs, and they don’t have any reason to touch them unless you tell them they can. I’ve done it with my friends before when they touch stuff in my room that I don’t want them to touch. It’s a little hard, but it gets the message across. GL! :)

I have “do not touch” sticker on it, but people love to do what tell them not to😂

I’ve never repotted mine, but when plants are due for a watering when I repot them, I water them.

Eewwww what a horrid person. I would definitely confront them about it, saying they harmed a plant and that's not okay. And id just always meet them out, especially if they couldn't be respectful. If they want a plant prop they should ask, and if its not a good time to prop that plant, or you just dont want to, because you love the current look, they should accept that.

I always ask. But I'm a new plant parent. I asked my sister for cuttings and she got upset. I'll never ask again. My mom has given me cuttings. I have no problem giving cuttings, but if someone touches my plant sans permission, I will get upset. That's rude. It's also stealing.

Also, I believe folks need to respect boundaries. I'm not moving my plants around foe company. If I can't trust someone to not touch my plants (or anything else I have in my house), then that person is not welcome. I don't care if we are related.

I have just about 30 plants. I’m not moving them!

I was contemplating having to move plants if some jerk was a prop stealer and I just about cried 🥺😭

And you should not have to! It's your house and they are your plants!
