why did my snake plant i tried to propagate do this all it was in was water and i read it is best to cut the v in the end when propagating

In my experience, snake plants can be really difficult to propagate. The success rate isnt super high and it can take a really long time. Nothing you did wrong! I would just cut another v a little higher up and try again!
