# My rescued Imperial Red, Rome, had severe root and stem rot which…

My rescued Imperial Red, Rome, had severe root and stem rot which required him to basically regrow from scratch (save one healthy leaf). He has been propogating in water for about a month or so -- do these roots look long enough to transition him into soil or should I wait a bit longer?

let it grow a bit more, keep refreshing the water and try adding cold coffee to the water!

best to wait until you have secondary (feeder) roots coming off of the main roots!
