# Finally got around to digging up and propagating my Colocasia…

_Posted by HA135 on 2025-12-06_

Finally got around to digging up and propagating my Colocasia (elephant ear). It’s my first time trying to propagate using the method, and it’s been very cold recently, but I’m hoping for the best.

If anyone has any advice, I’d be happy to hear it. Should I sterilize the cuts in any way? Charcoal?

If you sterilized the knife, the cuts should be fine. If you didn't, then pour some hydrogen peroxide on them
