# This branch broke off of my Flaming Katy (not sure why but where the…

This branch broke off of my Flaming Katy (not sure why but where the plant meets the soil some roots are becoming very weak and snapping off - not sure if this is root rot or due to small flies I’ve been seeing around the plant). I tossed this in some water to see what would happen and now I’m finding this tiny root looking things at the bottom. Should I put this in soil? Or is it too far gone?

Root rot typically smells and is black and squishy!

Also if katy likes the water, keep her as a hydroponic (only in water)🫶🏼❤️
