Apply before planting. No need to add it afterwards.

Oh I meant for propagation in water. Sorry I didn’t say that. I’m trying to prop some pothos

I’d prop it in soil. Consider switching over to soil propagation it’s better for pretty much all plants. Rooting hormone in water won’t work the same/at all, so if you prop it in water don’t bother with it.

For water propping it’s not necessary, but I’d recommend keeping more than one cutting together, because they do create their own rooting hormone and more cuttings mean more to go around.
