# Has anyone successfully propagated their money tree? I’ve watched…

Has anyone successfully propagated their money tree? I’ve watched YouTube videos about the process, read about it, bought root stimulator, etc. and it’s never worked for me. Next time I prune mine I want to try again and would love some advice. TY in advance!

Yes a few times - I always just dip the cuttings in rooting hormone and stick them in water until they root. What have you tried that didn’t work?

I tried the root hormone on the cut end and then put it in dirt (saw a YouTube video and thats what they did). It died. Tried rooting in plain water and it seemed to be working but when I transferred to dirt they all died.

Do you have a pic of what the roots look like? Did it take a long time? Should I let the cut end dry a bit like for other propagation?

I also used rooting hormone and I started mine in water propagation tubes. I potted them in normal potting soil when the roots were like this. I’ve had to upsize the container again since then. My current quest now is to figure out when to prune to encourage more upward growth

Wow! That’s amazing! Did you dip the stem in the root hormone powder and let it dry some to form a callus? Any additional tips?

I changed the water every 2-3 days and once every 10 days or so I would add about 0.25mL of diluted plant food. I think it helped the cuttings I took had giant leaves, in my mind it made them better at photosynthesis but I’m not sure if that’s actually how it works or not 🤷‍♀️
