My string of bananas was accidentally watered from the top and now it’s all brown and dying. I was told to trim the green parts off and propagate it. How long do you let the roots get before putting in soil for successful planting?

Let it grow secondary roots before you put it in soil definitely

Mine have done well when they are 2-4 inches long. But if you can wait for second roots, even better.
