As long as there’s secondary roots I dnt think it matters

Usually, I wait until the new growth occurs and the mother plant dies

I think that might be okay to plant, just check the roots after a few weeks.

I’ve had the best luck with waiting til 2-3 inches but make sure when you repot your keeping the soil moist for and few days because the roots have been used to having constant water
