# I need help! My aloe plant grew an extra baby plant and the prior one…

_Posted by Nani on 2026-08-21_

I need help! My aloe plant grew an extra baby plant and the prior one (left) has gotten bigger. Now last time I tried separating a baby aloe, it was the size of the one on the right …. and then it died shortly after. And the one on the left is big enough but how do I get it out into its own little pot. Not sure what to do! 🫣

You can just pull it out carefully so not to damage the attached root. It should be easy, I've done it on mine. Unless you want to unpot her and take the baby out. Goodluck 😃

I repotted her last year so I want to let her be .. I’ll try what you suggested and gently pull. I’ll leave the extra mini baby alone until it grows more! Thank you!
