These are stem cuttings from my split leaf philodendron. Will they root in water or should I put them in soil?

not to mention it's not always reliable information

#### Kelly replied on 2026-08-25

Yah it’s not always reliable but most of the time it is.

Do they have nodes?

#### Tippy replied on 2026-08-23

2 of them

#### LeafyGreenhouse replied on 2026-08-23

The others won’t root at all, the two that have them you would be better off putting them in soil or perlite to root.

Yes they do have nodes

The two with nodes will root. Toss the others before they rot. Also getting advice from people is far better than AI. While AI is a good guide, don’t take it to heart. They often don’t have a clue about YOUR PLANT particulars, because they literally aren’t human.🤖

Thank you for this. I rather ask humans than AI anyways.

These root great when you put them in a plastic bag with moss and spray them every week or so ( keep it moist) Doing this in water, I found that it rots a lot easier!

Thank you
