# Not sure if my friend here is a parlor palm or an Areca, but its…

Not sure if my friend here is a parlor palm or an Areca, but its leaves are suddenly becoming dry almost as if the plant is dying. I’m new to a lot of this, so I’m not sure what could be wrong—

The plant is a year old, and being watered every week-week and a half. I checked for spider mites and see none. It’s kept out of direct sunlight and in a temperature about 72 degrees. The leaves are still green when they begin to dry out, and eventually yellow out. I trimmed off the dead leaves hoping that may help, but I’m unsure what I should do next.

Any advice?
