# Hello! I got this alocasia silver dragon from Trader Joe’s on…

Hello! I got this alocasia silver dragon from Trader Joe’s on Wednesday and he doesn’t look to well:( (I don’t keep him in the widow seal like this just have him here for a better picture. His leaves are yellow which I presume is from a sunburn from too much light the first 2 days I had him. He is still in his baby planter pot that has drainage. I’m a new plant mom too :(

Alocasias can be challenging— and they throw a fit anytime anything changes. So even the transition from the store to your home might be “stressful“ for the plant.

Overall, make sure he gets really good lighting, and that if you keep him in soil, you don’t let it become soggy. They are very, very prone to root rot.
