# I had to cut my ponytail palm back completely during a battle with…

I had to cut my ponytail palm back completely during a battle with thrips last summer. A year later, it’s doing better, but I keep having leaf breakage at the base of the sprouts and mid-leaf. Is it a watering issue? Humidity? Fertilizer?

It’s in a NE facing window, only gets 1-2 hours direct sunlight in the morning. Was fertilized a couple of months ago.
