# I revived my dying calathea by placing it outside on my patio,…

_Posted by Ryan on 2026-05-15_

I revived my dying calathea by placing it outside on my patio, covered in a plastic grocery bag. Now that it’s sprouted again, I’m not sure if I should continue keeping it covered or if it will be okay uncovered, outside watered with distilled and rain water?

My apartment doesn’t stay humid enough I think, though I’m looking into a humidifier.

All tips appreciated!

I don’t know much about this type of plant, but the pot looks too big for it now. I would try planting it in a much smaller pot.

It started out big! It slowly died off over the course of months and now it’s finally reshooting after maybe a week and half of the covered period. I’m scared to repot tbh.
