# Sooo… I messed up and thought my Parlor Palm could deal with the heat…

_Posted by Eveenala on 2026-08-27_

Sooo… I messed up and thought my Parlor Palm could deal with the heat in my bathroom getting indirect sun from an East facing window. It could not and it dried out in July. I finally chopped the dried fronds early August. She’s been more or less stuck in stasis since. That little new frond you see in the second picture has been stuck since July. 😭
She seemed to be reacting well to watering more often than advised, but I think I started over watering her this past week.
Right now I’m moving her to a north facing window with a maidenhair. Hopefully some cooler climate and humidity will help, but any other advice is appreciated. 😅

be sure to check that your issue isn't fungal. assuming this bathroom has a shower that is used regularly, the humidity fluctuates, and inconsistent humidity is a breeding ground for bacterial and fungal infections. it's also just upsetting to the plant in general, they don't like super rapid changes like that. a north window is too little light for a palm, light is not your issue. if possible move it to an east or west window that isn't the bathroom
