This zz I rescued a few months ago is finally happy and giving beautiful new stems :))))

Also I think it’s really cool how the old stems have black spots from watering wrong and the new ones are just perfect 😍. It shows what it’s been through and how it over came 💪

Love you Zebbie!!!

Edit—the last picture is where I usually keep him. Up high in my bathroom. That window doesn’t get much light and it’s one of those windows that has stuff on it so you can’t see through it. He is completely neglected and forgotten about lmao sometimes I feel really bad for him 😬

Hi Jess! How did you rescue your ZZ plant? I think mine is in need of some rescuing.

This looks beautiful! I got mine which had been over watered and wasn’t in well draining soil so I brought it home cleaned the roots took off any that were dead and repotted in better soil. Since it was over watered I didn’t water it and kept checking the roots where it holds water. (I left it alone without water for almost 4 months). I just watered it for the first time a month ago and then put it back up on top of a shelf and forgot about it—then I noticed these new stems last week :))

I always tell people these plants thrive on neglect. I have mine on a really tall shelf where I literally forget about it lol. They’re very similar to snake plants with care :)

If you want more help you can let me know and I’ll give you my number!

What light do you keep Zebbie in! I got a zz a few weeks ago from a discounted section of my local nursery and he’s looking rough. Trying my best to “neglect” him

Let me add a picture of where I keep him :)

I ADORE watching new stems push up through the soil. I bought some small cuttings at the garden center, repotted them and really wait between waterings, and they've grown SO MANY new shoots. I'll probably keep reporting up so they keep going, such joy. I recently got a single stem Raven Zz (the black green one) and cannot wait for it to grow more stems. Your plant looks beautiful!

I’ve filled this one out with cuttings! I really want a raven zz but I can’t find any! We should connect and see if we can swap any cuttings!
