# So in a previous post I had told you about a Princess of Hanover…

So in a previous post I had told you about a Princess of Hanover propagation. The leaf itself actually had a new leaf growing right where the stem connects to the leaf. I took the leaf and cut it up. I cut the new growing leaf out from the main leaf. I cut the stem it 2 and planted them horizontally. I used a mix of 2 parts potting soil to 1 part perlite. Lightly watered and put a lid on. The problem is that my propagation container was very flat and the one prop was getting close to the lid.

So I needed to transplant to a new container. I had a small 3” pot that Costa Farms uses for plants the ship to Lowes. That would work. But how to keep the moisture in? I really didn’t want a ziplock bag. Could I find something more elegant? I remembered we had some clear Solo cups downstairs. I grabbed one and sure enough it fit perfectly over the lip of the pot.

I filled the pot with some Coast of Maine, Cape Neddick blend. I the took a spoon and gently scooped the prop out with it soil to keep the roots intact and laid it on top.

Gave just a trickle of water and put on its new humidity dome. It now has room to grow more. Let’s see what it does.
