Planta will suggest I water some of my plants almost every day. Like my Plum tree or Chilli’s for example. But often the soil is still damp. So generally I just give them a light sprinkle.

I’m wondering are these tasks suggested each day because the plants/soil need to be kept moist as thats their preferred conditions?

Or should I always, with any plant, only be completing the task if the first 1/2 inches of soil is dry? And snoozing if still wet.

You kinda have to train it actually. Never water your plants again, unless it’s a high water demand plant, until the soil is dry. I stick a bamboo skewer in the soil and if it comes out dry, I water it. If it’s still wet and my app tells me to water it? I skip the task. I find this app wants me to water far more than is actually necessary.

Super helpful thank you!

Planta definitely starts out suggesting chronic overwatering; skip tasks until the plant actually needs it

Great. Ok, I suppose I assumed it suggests the recommended care plan initially.
