# I’ve got these beautiful trees around me that are starting to bloom…

_Posted by Adrian on 2025-04-05_

I’ve got these beautiful trees around me that are starting to bloom these lovely white flowers, and would love if anyone could tell me what kind of tree this is. I live in zone 7a in PA, if that helps at all. They kinda remind me of cherry blossoms 🌸 I’m thinking it’s a type of pear tree or a white cherry blossom tree. Would love to be able to identify it so I can plant one around my house 😊 TIA for any help in finding out what these trees are!

I believe this is a plum blossom also known as prunus mume, usually smell great and bloom late winter.

Possibly a Callery or Bradford pear

if the blossoms smell bad then it's definitely callery or bradford pear. bradford is a cultivar of callery pear but both bradford and the original plant are increasingly considered as "invasive" in various areas of the US. if this does happen to be a callery pear or bradford pear please report it to a local wildlife agency or other related organization

Good to know. Thanks! 😊

It could maybe be a dogwood? I’m from northeast Ohio and we had dogwoods there which are native to the region.
