# These are my Forget me nots. I’ve had them planted for a little over…

These are my Forget me nots. I’ve had them planted for a little over a month on my balcony and has drainage at the bottom. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong and why it’s turning brown? Anyone know anything?

The container is too big for the root system. It’s holding too much water and probably causing the roots to rot. I would take them out and repot into a much smaller container. The soil level looks a little low too, be sure to fill it up more. They’re too low to take in adequate sunlight.

oh and also, how can i add more soil without like killing the roots?

When you repot add soil about 1/3 full and then place your forget me nots in and fill around with soil. Don’t pack it down too much. I’m not sure how large their current container is but I wouldn’t go larger than a 6” pot and that might be too large still.
