# This squat fluffy hummingbird has been sitting here next to the…

This squat fluffy hummingbird has been sitting here next to the feeder almost all day. I know the birds fight over the feeder so we plan to get another one soon, but is this normal? I assume the bird is ‘standing guard’, but am just guessing. Any input?

This is so normal. It is actually a good thing because it means he likes it! (And it is a he). The best way to keep him from fighting others is just put another one at least eight ft away from this one so other hummers can enjoy!
