I have a planter with 4 dahlia s and 2 zinnias. I like the arrangement now, but am aftaid the planter may be too small and overcrowded. It’s my first time with dahlias. Any suggestions? Is this feasible? The planter is in a location with full sun. Zone 7. Thanks for the advice.

Zinnias like some space, they’ll produce more blooms. Little space, they’ll grow real tall, often too heavy for themselves, with a few, smaller sized blooms. They LOVE sun and prefer warmer temperatures, thriving at 80 and 90 degrees

As for the dahlias, I can’t help ya there. But I do want to incorporate some in my flowerbeds!

Dahlias grow pretty tall. I’ve always planted mine in my flowerbeds. Dig the roots up and store for next year.

Thanks. Looks like my fears were not unfounded. I don’t have a flower bed yet. Will transplant these to larger pots then.
