# Greetings! I’m moving and the new place doesn’t have the best natural…

Greetings!

I’m moving and the new place doesn’t have the best natural light for my 40+ plants… all of my plants are thriving and I’ve never had any need for grow lights until now. May you please help a sister out and recommend some great grow lights? TIA🫶🏾

Soltech are very good. I have the track lighting in my plant room.

LBWs are my favorite. Affordable, adjustable (they're on tripod stands), and strong enough to grow plants on their own without additional sunlight (my windows don't allow usable light in for the plants)

Soltech, Barrina, Mother, Hortipower. All excellent. I just got one of the LBW desk lamp versions. it's pretty nice, covers a fair amount of area too. The main thing will be to check what light each plant requires and find a light with the corresponding lumen and lux

how do you find the lumens based on the plant light requirement? for ex, if it’s a part sun plant what would be the corresponding lumens?

Most plants prefer at least a 5,000 Kelvin. Kelvin referring to the color temperature. A regular sunny day would be around that. A super bright direct sun would be more into the 10,000 K range. More blue light (higher Kelvin) are best for growing green vegetation. Red to Purple (sometimes you'll see it advertised as Blurples if they cover a small spectrum) are better for flower growth and fruiting. A Full Spectrum light will cover a wide variety of the color spectrum and be good all around for any plant. But if you're purposely looking to flower or fruit, you may want a light that has both options, or just a red or blurple light. In the cabinet I'm building right now I have full spectrum on one side and pink (red + white) on the other. If you just have a narrow-band light, like just red, you won't always get optimum growth, since it's only giving the plants a single color spectrum.

Here's one showing a full spectrum light. With the wavelengths measured in nm nanometer. Unfortunately a lot of different light companies use various terms. So it can kind of be a pain. Though lumens isn't used for plants scientifically, it often is used in advertising.

SANSI grow lights are my favorite! I usually get them from the sansi website or Amazon!
