If you don't want to put in a trellis or poles, I'd chop and prop it. ### Plant Lives Matter commented on 2024-11-22 This is how Hoyas grow. They put out a long stem to attempt to find something to climb. Leaves and peduncles will grow on the stem whether it climbs or not. Any part of the stem it decides it doesn’t need will eventually dry up. Hoyas are very good at maintaining themselves without the need for pruning. So it’s kind of up to you. If you’re trying to control the growth or don’t want it to get any bigger, cut it. But my suggestion is to just let it be so it can grow more. ### OzPlantGirl commented on 2024-11-22 No! ### Sunny commented on 2024-11-23 Never, never, ever cut hoya vines unless you want to stunt their growth and block new flowers from forming. My Hoya Meliflua pictured put out lots of vines in summer.
