# So I repotted my orchid Wednesday evening, and 2 of the flowers…

_Posted by MaggiePlants on 2023-04-21_

So I repotted my orchid Wednesday evening, and 2 of the flowers started wilting yesterday afternoon. It was doing fantastic before repotting. I’ve had it for about a month and the pot didn’t have drainage and the air roots were overflowing from the pot, so I had to repot. I’m using an orchid soil mix, didn’t pack the soil too much and gently watered it just to wet the soil. I did move it about 1 1/2 yards away from where it was before the repot, but when I noticed the flowers I moved it back to its original spot and set up a humidifier. The new bud is opening this morning, I’m just wondering if it will be okay or if I should do more to help it destress 😞

Note: it’s been in the corner of an east facing and south facing window. The south facing window gets filtered light, east facing gets full morning light until about 9 am when it’s filtered. Also has 2 full spectrum grow lights nearby. As I said, the orchid has been doing fantastic up until yesterday.

Try putting it in water for a lil bit. We potted our orchids and they weren’t happy so we put them in water and they are happy now.

Repotting while in bloom can sometimes cause the flowers to drop prematurely.
