# Hello! I was gifted this Persian Shield 2 weeks ago! The bottom…

Hello!

I was gifted this Persian Shield 2 weeks ago! The bottom leaves were faded and dull looking but the top leaves looked okay. Now the bottom leaves are falling off and the top leaves are looking a little wilted and 2 stems are leaning a bit.

I watered it a little bit 2 days ago but am afraid to add more and overwater. Any tips? Thank you!!

Hey there! Persian shields are soooo pretty but they are also soooo needy haha! I see you have it in your office - does it have a light source? I think these prefer to be in pretty bright light to maintain the colors and their leaves are kind of thin so they want more humidity.

Hi! I took it down for the picture but it’s on my window sill next to my desk that has pretty bright indirect light. It gets some direct sun light in the afternoon as the sun begins to set. The humidity might be an issue though. I’ll probably take it home next week and see if it does better there.

Yeah give that a shot. These do great in Georgia outside but it’s also around 60% humidity here.

Yep, needy Planta these ones. What 9s said is totally correct. They need plenty of bright indirect light and high humidity 🌿

Those plants are really fussy, but I’d say it might be die back
