# Hello everybody! I am thinking about trying to propagate an avocado…

Hello everybody! I am thinking about trying to propagate an avocado pit but have heard it can be rather difficult to successfully root… does anybody have any advice, tips, or tricks on how I can be most successful in getting the pit to root?

My best method is to first soak it in water for at least 24h. Then wrap the avocado pot in moist paper towels and place it in a ziplock bag. Place the bag in a warm spot. The pit should’ve started to sprout within a couple of weeks so check up on it regularly. When it has started to sprout you can move it to soil or grow it in a vase with water 🥑
