# I have this pink polka dot plant which was thriving with so much of…

_Posted by Plantmom on 2024-07-17_

I have this pink polka dot plant which was thriving with so much of new growth. It is also blooming right now. But since few days I am seeing the larger leaves turning yellow (I had pruned a few of them yesterday). Can someone tell me if this is a major issue as I feel the plant looks sad than before. I read somewhere that this plant needs to be pruned from top to encourage bushier growth which I was unaware of. I am planning to do that soon but are there any other suggestions to improve its health ?
P.S the plant needs water every 3-4 days else its leaves start drooping.

With it being a flowering plant it’ll push out large stalks for flowers if it’s happy but this process will stunt the plant afterwards. If you want you can cut back the larger stalks so it’s putting the energy back into the foliage growth.
\*If a plant experiences “seasonal changes” it’ll respond but trying to reproduce (flower) the“change” here could’ve been moving it to the sunny window
