I got this plant a couple weeks ago and it’s been the most temperamental pain in the butt. Any advice on what it needs?

It’s been watered and gets plenty of sun. I’ve tried putting it in a couple of places in my living room but once it started wilting it can’t seem to get better.

The leaves are all pretty crispy too but the soil is wet so I’m at a loss! Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Hey! Have you repotted it since you got it? I think the soil could be the culprit if it’s wet but the leaves are still crunchy. I’d say dig her up and see what its roots look like, if they’re strong, long, and healthy, then I wonder if the air in your house is just really dry? If the roots are broken and soggy or dry and leggy, try a new soil mix with a good amount of perlite and peat moss, mixed with a little chunky potting soil.

I will say that I think this baby may need a restart though :( look at its corm to see if it’s healthy enough to be repotted and started over. Alocasias are so hard! Keep at it!!!

I just tried repotting it in some fresh soil and cut off some of the super soggy looking roots. We’ll see what happens! This is what I get for not doing my research, I just thought it was pretty! Appreciate the help ¨̮ will keep you guys posted!
