I bought this beautiful Alocasia Frydek var. a month ago and it’s been growing beautifully. I have it in a little green house for moisture. Today I notice this little impostor growing alone with my plant. Does anybody know what could it be? And whether I should keep it or throw away? Tia

Its a Madagascar periwinkle, and are not necessarily harmful to the plant and produce lots of pretty pink flowers.

😍😍 thank you. When it gets bigger, I will put it in a separate pot ☺️

I’d recommend moving it now actually, into something small like a 2” pot. It has two sets of true leaves so it should have a pretty good root system. If it gets any bigger the roots will tangle with the alocasia and be harder to relocate without damage. Also I don’t know where you are located but periwinkle is considered invasive in lots of places so if it blooms down the road be sure to deadhead it

Oh wow, since the time that I posted this the plant grew even more. I’ll make sure to take it out now and put it in another pot. I live in the north east region of the United States.
