Omg this guy is killing me! For the 2nd time I’ve found thrips . I first got it as a tiny starter then noticed the leaves getting droopy \& yellow \& after looking at it noticed little guys walking around . I treated it got rid of them \& hadn’t found any on any other plants . That was last winter. Today I look at it \& see yellow \& other spots so put it up to a grow light \& omg there they are ! It’s been growing looking good growing new leaves so hadn’t thought much about it . I cut off the janky leaves \& soaked it in a Castile soap alcohol \& peroxide mix ( liquiddirt recipe it’s actually supposed to be a spray 😕) \& visually they are gone at least for now.I’m not worried about soil issues because I have had it in Pon since I got it . It seems like it’s only this plant wth is it with this freaking plant ? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad I haven’t found it spreading but omg !

usually you’d want to repot and replace the soil after finding a pest issue. especially since it sounds like the plant has been healthy all year. that’s where the pests hide and wait. i would give it a fresh batch of soil, or pon since that’s what you’ve been using. it should clear up from there, since you already cleaned the plant (:

Yeah I did replace my pon so we are all good there . 😀

I’m obsessed with cleaning my alocasias since they are big magnets!

Yeah I think I’m going to have to be more proactive \& do that myself .
