# Hi! I’m not an aficionado, but I need help from those of you who are!…

Hi! I’m not an aficionado, but I need help from those of you who are! I think I overwatered this alocasia. It already lost one small leaf, and now the large leaf appears to be dying. I repotted it today and there are very few roots left, but what’s there looks firm and white. My questions are A) do I cut the big leaf? Maybe there’s not enough of a root system to support it?? And B) when do I water it again?? Afraid to overwater again, but it’s been repotted into dry soil today and also afraid to underwater it!! I did get two corms which I am attempting to propagate so it seems there is some part of the plant that is still healthy and savable?!
Also the lamp in the photo is a grow bulb so it should be getting plenty of light.
Thanks in advance for help/recommendations!

I'd clip it, it's not going to come back and just gonna put a drain on the corm. You could put some rooting powder, when roots aren't great.

Thank you!! I’ll look into that!

You can also dip the corms in it to help them root as well.

Should I water it or let it be dry for a few days???

If your sure its from over watering, I'd leave it a day or two.

I’ve switched all of my alocasia to pon and they are thriving now. Also no pests and takes the guess work out of watering :)
