# Why does my self watering pot have this inside of it? What can I do…

Why does my self watering pot have this inside of it? What can I do to eliminate it? Randomly happened I have had this plant for about 3-4 months and this randomly happened 😣

Have you been changing the water weekly, if not more? If not, that is likely the reason.

I agree it needs regular cleaning and disinfecting. The same build up of algae and microbes occurs when propagating in water without frequent water changes and cleaning.

Change the water or it will get a gunky blob.
