What is your secret? Poor thing didn't last a month in my house.

I’m not sure if it’s anything specific I’m doing. But I water it at least once a week (no more than 10 days), I mist it whenever I notice the top soil is too dry(in between waterings). I fertilize with every watering \& it gets 14 hours of light/day from a grow light.

Beautiful! On my list to buy - have two dragon scales already but silver dragon is gorgeous and yours looks so good

I propped some of its corms earlier this year \& just recently posted them on fb marketplace! If you were in my area I would’ve been down to trade or even just gift 💚

That’s so sweet! Can I ask one question - do you mist your Alocasia? I’ve heard differing advice and tbh yours looks so healthy that I would trust your method

I do mist it, but only when I remember so not all the time. Maybe once between waterings \& that’s very lightly \& only if the top soil is absolutely dry.  
I use to have a mini humidifier next to it bc when I first got it I read everywhere that alocasia prefer high humidity but honestly it’s been doing just fine without it.

Thank you! I went for a walk today and managed to come home with an Alocasia Black Velvet somehow… Will try your regime on that!

My black velvet😁 hates me \& wont keep more than one leaf 🤣 I’ve chopped it back completely \& grown it back only for nothing to change. I wish you better luck than I’ve had with mine 💚
