# Help!!! I’ve been putting my alocasias in water to transition them to…

Help!!!
I’ve been putting my alocasias in water to transition them to pon . It’s been going just fine until today I noticed the tip of a few of the corms are rotting. My Variegated frydek, Polly, Silver Dragon, and Dragons Breath all are having this issue. For now I put less water in so it doesn’t touch the rotten bottom of the corm. Except the Veriegated frydek, I put that one in a mix of fluval stratum, pon, \& perlite. Should I take it out and place it in water too with the water not touching the very bottom? Problem is the plant is very tall and I’m not sure how to keep it from touching the water! It only has one leaf so nothing will grip to the jar I use, it will just fall straight in.
Any info would be great because I have read numerous places that alocasia do not rot in water! I’m so frustrated.

I’d place them all into the fluval for now and see if you can scrape any of the rot off

Yeah I’m afraid if I don’t do something soon they’re just going to continue to rot. A few of them have water roots growing and stretching down towards the water but several aren’t… mainly the ones rotting are the ones that don’t look to be having many water roots forming.

Yeah it’s better the act now than later
