I bought this Polly 2 weeks ago and have only watered it once. I let it drain for about 45 mins, and is in a well lit area. The substrate feels mostly like coco coir and it is still wet even though it’s been 9 days since watering. Can someone tell me what’s wrong with my plant baby?

Too Dense soil of not enough humidity I’d recommend a repot in a well draining airy soil. Bonus is you might find fsome
Corms too

Thank you! Do you mean worms?

No they mean baby plants like baby bulb seeds

lol yes corms! You can google what to do with them to make baby plants. I highly recommend gloves if you repot it though. Alocasias corms have stuff that can cause severe skin irritation (I learned the hard way)

This looks like a fungus or something to me.

The brown spots with yellow rings around them make me think it’s a fungal/bacterial issue. Are you misting the plant?

#### Johnatan replied on 2024-05-08

Yes a couple times

I believe that’s what caused the problem. Many plants can handle misting but not alocasias, they like humidity but not wet leaves. It can cause a fungal infection. I recommend spraying it down with a fungicide and don’t mist it anymore. If you want to increase humidity try a pebble tray or humidifier.

Will stop misting this and all my alocasias thank you. And fungicide is on its way! Thank you

Yes, I had this happen to my first alocasia I sprayed it and haven’t had this issue ever again.
