# Got my first Alocasia a few weeks ago. Do these guys like to be root…

Got my first Alocasia a few weeks ago. Do these guys like to be root bound at all, or would y’all recommend repotting this guy?

I would typically see roots like that and immediately repot. But I’m new to Alocasias.

I would repot in some well draining, chunky, aroid mix. You can mix your own, or buy some pre-mixed on Amazon. Alocasias love it! Good luck!

It’s up to you but I’d wait till spring to repot, alocasia’s like being snug
