I can officially call myself an Alocasia aficionado now that my extremely happy (has put out 3 new leaves this week) Silver Dragon has put out a flower (it has not fully bloomed yet). Anyone else have their indoor Alocasias bloom?! Any tips?! I’m thrilled

I have a black velvet doing the same! I have no tips or tricks as this is my first one too. Honestly didn’t even know they flowered until now! So excited to see it open :)

Me either!! It’s so crazy!! I’ve heard they flower and the flower dies all within one day so I hope I don’t miss it

My black velvet just flowered. No idea what I did or why. Haha! I’m thrilled.

I’ve been told to snip the bloom bulbs as soon as they come in, it drains the energy from the leaves and rest of the plant

I did this and it died 2 weeks ago. So who knows 😂 next time I think I’ll just leave it
