# Got this Alocasia from Costco a few weeks ago. When repotting, I…

Got this Alocasia from Costco a few weeks ago. When repotting, I found a small sponge within the soil (also in a few other plants I got). After repotting the plant has continued to decline and I realized all the roots have died.

Any advice on how to save?

Transfer the plant to water and change the water every 2-3 days. (You can add fertilizer to the water)  
Wait until the roots are a few inches long before transferring to soil.

I found that on several of my roots too 😡  
WHYYYYYYYYYY!!?!?!?  
Why set the plant up to die from the start? Why even let it live at all! Ugh.
