Hi my birkin philodendrons leaf started curling weirdly like this idk what could be the problem. I’m a plant noob. Maybe not getting enough light? I have it under a grow light 4 hrs a day because it’s too windy outside rn.

How far from the grow light is it? If it’s too close … it could be getting too hot??

Maybe 2 or 3 feet

4 hours may not be enough. What about water? How often are you watering it?

#### Rebekah replied on 2025-03-07

Once a week, I just got it so it’s only been watered by me once 2 days ago

Okay. Well if you just got it less than a week, it’s probably just stressed out. Give it some time to adjust to the new environment, but 4 hours of your light is def not enough unless you’re combining that with indirect light from a window.
Philodendrons like water so make sure it’s not completely drying out in between waterings, I think the suggestion is the first 1-2 inches in the pot should be dry. I mist mine every 2-3 days since I’m in a very dry environment.
If it starts displaying other distressing symptoms you might be able to narrow down what has it upset, if the leaves start changing color def check its roots out and make sure it doesn’t have root rot or to check the potting medium isn’t too hard that it’s not getting the water your giving it.
Feel free to post updated pics if anything else starts happening, good luck and welcome to the plant life! Lol
