# Are these aerial roots growing on my philodendron? If I were to wrap…

Are these aerial roots growing on my philodendron? If I were to wrap a bit of sphagnum moss around it, would it encourage new growth there, or just make the roots grow?

I don’t currently have a moss pole for it to climb so I’m looking for ways to keep her happy and healthy in the meantime!

They are air roots. While it won’t help with more growth at that spot, it can help growth at the tip. This part will mostly grow roots. IMO you’re better off doing small cuttings if you want a fuller pot.
