# I got this Birkin from Wilco about two weeks ago and I can’t tell if…

I got this Birkin from Wilco about two weeks ago and I can’t tell if it’s struggling or not with the existing pot and soil. Help?

First photo is when I brought it home from the store, second is about a week ago, and third is this morning. I lost one of the beautiful variegated leaves due to my cat knocking it sideways (😭) so I changed up its placement and it’s now safe. But I am noticing yellow and brown spots appearing on the existing leaves. I already snipped off one leaf that was doing poorly (the one curling in the first photo). The soil also seems to stay pretty wet for a long time (this is the pot and soil it came in from the store).

What gives me hope is that I see new growth appearing along the main stem. This is mainly what makes me hesitate to repot.

Should I repot and see what’s going on in there?

I would highly recommend checking out those roots and repotting in good soil. Sounds like crappy nursery soil that is causing root rot by keeping the soil too moist for too long. Godspeed!! 💚💚

Thank you, Tracy! I’m going to check them out today 🙂 the soil is STILL wet after a watering a while ago so I have a feeling you’re right.

Definitely agree, its wet for too long. Once you change the soil it should show some improvement.
