# so, I just bought this blushing philodendron from a trusted plant…

so, I just bought this blushing philodendron from a trusted plant store, not a big box store more of a local in my area and when i got it it had a little flower bud! i was so excited and i checked on it today to see how it was doing and i noticed the stem around the bud was mushy and white and it came off when i touched it and i unraveled the flower to see this. i keep my room at 67• F and i have a humidifier and plenty of sunlight! did i do anything wrong?? did it just break in the car and rot maybe? i need some answers because i feel horrid.

I don’t know what it could be but Mabey pests

i’m not sure. i live somewhere very very cold and i’ve never had a pest issue before and i’ve had my plants for 5+ years.

Pests can come in soils

Check and see if the store has any kind of warranty policy. The nursery I frequent offers some decent warranties on houseplants purchases, so you may be able to get money back or a replacement.

well that’s alright the plant itself is flourishing and i reported it and everything and id love to stick with it. it was just the bud i’m thinking i may have bumped and snapped it

my guess would be too much water and not enough light
